Water can also obscure other hazards, such as potholes, gravel, or debris, which might be less visible in the rain. Moreover, vehicles on the road can splash water, further reducing visibility and hiding potential dangers.

Although caution is advisable during peak traffic hours and in the early morning when visibility might be lower, these situations do not inherently increase the risk of losing control like wet conditions do. On wide-open highways, while there can be hazards, the risk of dangerous conditions due to wet surfaces is typically less prevalent compared to areas with obstacles or traffic congestion.
